Mr. Yam Can Bake is a dedicated bakery that has ​been delighting customers with its all-natural ​ingredient sourdough since 2023.


We proudly craft our bread without any bread ​softeners, commercial yeast, oil, or sugar, staying ​true to pure and wholesome ingredients.


Our sourdough is made from scratch, using ​traditional fermentation methods that not only ​enhance the flavor but also improve the nutritional ​value of our bread.

Sourdough bread is baked and dispatched on the next day. For self pick-up, you may collect your ​order the day after baking day. Please check the self-pick-up location in “Contact Info” section.

All breads are freshly made with overnight fermentation. Please place your order at least 2 days in ​advance, which can be done every Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, with a cut-off time of 9pm.

Storage Tips

To maximize the shelf life of sourdough bread, follow these storage tips:

  1. Room temperature (2-3days):


  • Paper Bag: Preserve the freshness of your bread by storing it in a paper bag ​or wrapping it in a kitchen towel. This method allows the bread to breathe, ​keeping the crust delightfully crisp while preventing mold.


  • Bread Box: For optimal freshness, place your bread in a bread box. This ​creates a balanced environment, shielding the bread from excess moisture ​and air, ensuring it remains deliciously soft inside with a perfect crust.

2. Freezing (at least 2 weeks):


  • Wrap Properly: For convenient portioning, slice the bread before ​freezing. Wrap the whole loaf or individual slices tightly in plastic wrap or ​aluminum foil to protect against freezer burn


  • Freezer Bags: Place the wrapped bread in a zip-lock bag, removing as ​much air as possible before sealing to ensure maximum freshness.

Packing Methods

Sourdough is traditionally packed in paper bags ​because paper allows the bread to breathe, enabling ​the exchange of moisture and air with the ​environment. This helps maintain the crust's texture ​and prevents the bread from becoming soggy. ​Additionally, paper helps manage moisture levels, ​reducing the risk of mold growth in case of courier ​service delays.

  1. Oven Reheating:


  • Whole Loaf: Preheat the ​oven to 175°C for at least 10 ​min. Place the whole loaf ​directly on the oven rack or ​on a baking sheet. Heat for ​10~15 minutes until the crust ​is crisp and the bread is ​warmed through.


  • Sliced Bread: Lay the slices ​on a baking sheet and cover ​them with aluminium foil. ​Heat for 5~10 minutes until ​warm. The foil helps prevent ​the sliced bread from ​becoming too dry.

2. Toaster Oven:


  • Set the toaster oven to ​175°C. Place the bread slices ​directly on the rack or on a ​tray. Toast for 3~5 minutes, ​depending on your desired ​level of crispness.



3. Steaming (for Bread ​Softening):


  • As the water dances into a ​boil, steam your sliced bread ​for 5 minutes. Your bread will ​be nice and soft like pillow, ​though sadly without that ​satisfying crunch of a crispy ​crust.

4. Fry pan:


  • Preheat the frying pan over ​medium heat for about 1~2 ​minute. Lightly brush each ​side of the slices with olive ​oil or butter for added flavor ​and crispiness. Place the ​slices of sourdough bread in ​the preheated pan. Allow ​them to cook for about 2-3 ​minutes on each side, or until ​they are warmed through ​and have a nice, crispy ​texture on the outside.
